After living on Hilton Head Island for nearly a year now and we finally
got around to dining at Roastfish and Cornbread. We had been hearing a lot about Chef David Vincent Young
and his establishment and it was all good.
So what took us so long? Well after 5:00pm they are very busy and we decided not to wait in past visits. It was
pleasant to see them so busy. So on 7-17-2012 we decided to stop in around 4:00 p.m. "Good
Choice!" We got right in. I sat here a good 10 minutes before I typed this next comment because I did not
want people to think I was going overboard but the service was truly the best we've had on the island since we
have been here. Our servers name was Danielle so if you get her look forward to the best.
As for the food I had already dined at the Golf Course I played that day but my wife said, "I'm hungry
and you are taking me out to eat!" As any good husband would do I "OBEYED". I am inserting this to explain the
attached guest check price below.
I had heard about the cornbread being so good and to be honest it was not for me as it is made with sweet
potatoes and I am more of a traditionalist when it comes to cornbread but it was very well prepared and moist.
I am sure if you like a pumpkin taste you will love it. I had the homemade chicken soup and it was very good. I
also tried my wife's Fish & Shrimp platter and we were both very impressed. It was served and prepared with
care and we enjoyed it very much. We look forward to our next visit!
